Olay Fresh Effects Dew Over! Hydrating Gel Moisturizer

Hi everyone!~ Long time, no see... Sorry about that. But I am here, at 3 am, writing this for you c:

When it first came out I found a coupon that would give you a free cleanser if you bought a moisturizer. Excited to try out this new line by Olay, I picked up this moisturizer and the Out of This Swirled Deep Pore Clean and Exfoliating Scrub (which I will eventually review and link here). This honestly took lots of Target trips to find. One location would have the moisturizer, but no more cleanser, or vice versa. Finally, while vacationing in Vegas, I found both!

So here is this fairly new Olay Fresh Effects Dew Over! Hydrating Gel Moisturizer. Okay, maybe its a bit old. I got this in January and I just finished it about a week ago(in June). But I did not use it daily, so it would most likely last about a month or two if it is used daily. I will get back to that.

Here is what the website claims:

Give your skin a splash of 24-hour hydration. This lightweight moisturizing gel is oil-free and won’t clog pores. Formulated with a powder, it absorbs quickly and makes skin look less oily. And it’s infused with the essence of honeysuckle and white tea, leaving you feeling invigorated and energized.

Now, I absolutely adore gel moisturizers, because of trying the Garnier one (which I plan on buying someday). So until now, I had no idea that the moisturizer was formulated with powder. This clears up so much for me now.

This is what the moisturizer looks like:

Right off the bat, you can see that it does not at all look like a gel. It looks like a cream. This was a disappointment to me, since I was expecting something like the Garnier consistency, but I still gave this a try.

Although I'm not sure what honeysuckle or white tea smells like, it smelled very fresh, and a little sweet. There was something weird about it though. I can't explain it. It was kind of stuffy... It was as if it was trying to cover up the fresh scent? You have to smell it to understand.

When first applying the moisturizer, I noticed that it does have a very slight cooling sensation, and does absorb quickly. This is good, because it would make a good moisturizer when applying makeup right after. I found myself having to dip my fingertip in about three times to cover my face. Once for the nose area, one for the forehead area and one for the chin area. This definitely felt like I was using a lot of moisturizer each time. Perhaps it is because it absorbs so quickly. But seeing that it only comes with 1.7 fl oz, it was kind of a lot of product to use, which justifies my estimate of this only lasting about a month or two if used daily.

It feels very lightweight as it claims to be. My face felt clean and refreshed. However, this moisturizer was a bit drying for me. I did not feel that it was as moisturizing as it claimed. Mind you, I do not have dry skin. I have combination skin with an oily T-Zone. It makes sense since I now know that it is formulated with powder. Before today, I had no idea. I would imagine this to be a good choice for someone with oily skin. I used this on days where I thought I would be sweating a lot or if it was a hot day, since it was pretty refreshing.

It also gives that squeaky feeling that I get after applying Bath and Body Works lotion (which I abhor). But I managed to get over that. 

While I do not support its claim to "provide moisture for 24 hours", it is not a terrible moisturizer and the entire line is quite cute. I would recommend that someone with very oily skin to try this. It might work well. I personally would not repurchase this though, since I don't believe it works with my skin.

Bath & Body Works Body Butter

 I got this on the way back from San Fransisco at the Gilroy outlets for $5... I think it was pretty worth it :D The scent is Japanese Cherry Blossom. The body butter is realllllly thick. and I mean REALLY thick. You'd think less is more, but you kinda need alot because it gets absorbed very quickly. 

It says it has Shea & Jojoba butters and Oat, Rice, and Soybean Oils for intense moisture. It is very moisturizing but it irritated my elbows and legs (after shaving) So I usually just use it on my hands and other dry areas. It makes your skin very soft & lovely if you use it everyday :3

DDF Advanced Moisture Defense UV Cream

Hmm, well... I got this from Sephora as a free sample of the product. When I first got it I noticed it said Doctors Dermatologic Formula. It looks so serious O_O" 

It has SPF 15 and works against UVA and UVB rays. This is good because some sunscreens only protect against one. (Usually UVA)

It claims to Do the things listed to the side in the picture here:

So I also saw on the box that its recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation.

On the back it says:
Active Ingredients

Avobenzone 2%.............Sunscreen

Ensulizone 1%.............Sunscreen

Octisalate 4%..............Sunscreen

Octocrylene 1.25%..........Sunscreen

These confused me and I have never heard of them before, but... okay.?

When I squeezed some out I noticed it was a pale orange color. I instantly thought OMG, turmeric. I searched the box & I found it xD Turmeric has lots of antioxidants which are really good for your skin.(Michelle Phan taught me so it MUST be true!) I think it also helps lighten your skin too x3

I DONT LIKE THE SMELL OF THIS THOUGH.

Its not floral or anything.... Its plain and YUCK.... I'd rather it not have a scent at all.

Its not sticky and gets soaked in pretty quickly. It also doesnt make your face look orange; dont worry :3

Tips&Tricks: Soft Feet + Substitute Moisturizer

Do you want soft looking feet that aren't all cracked and dry for the summer? Yeah, who doesn't xD Especially if you wear flip-flops. Well, to achieve this, I use Noxema. Yep, the cleansing cream. I haven't done a review on this yet, but its very awesome ^^ and lasts a long time. Its not expensive either and you can use it on your face for acne too :) So while in the shower, I just put some Noxema on my feet. 

It doesnt have to be a thick layer, just cover your feets. The water will probabaly wash it off right away, but I've done this twice so far and I see a difference ^_^ :DD so, I'll continue this...  :3


If you've run out of moisturizer, use aloe gel. This stuff is used for sunburns. I use it for burns and if I just wanna switch up my moisturizer. Its lightweight, doesnt clog pores, dries quickly, not sticky, and since its a gel instead of a cream, its more lightweight. Aloe is natural and its good for your skin too ^_^ It has softening and soothing properties. Use this on dry patches of skin if you'd like. I use the brand called "Ocean Potion" My parents bought it because I got a sunburn in Hawaii xD It was all over my back. 

Ive also gotten an aloe leaf and took the jelly part out. its really soothing for the skin. and fun to play with ^_^

Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture & essence Forget it 3 in 1 Concealer

Picture Obviously not by me. This moisturizer is pretty good at moisturizing, however, IT SMELLS LIKE SUNSCREEN SOOOO MUCH

which I hate. I know, I know... DUH it smells like sunscreen... it has spf15... but my Eucerin one doesn't smell as much like sunscreen, even though it does a LITTLE bit.

DO NOT use this if you have oily skin. I know it says OIL-FREE but it leaves a freaking shiny finish! Dx and the only way to make it not shiny is caking on powder, which is not recommended  I need this to go awayyyyy xP thats why its part of my Project 10 Pan

This concealer is pretty cool ^^ Mine looks different than this one O_O anyway, the pink is for under eye circles, (this kinda looks weird at first, but powder fixes everything) green for neutralizing redness (also looks weird), and beige for blemishes. It works pretty well, even though the beige doesnt exactly match my skin color. The concealer itself is thick and creamy, and it is okay with coverage. I don't think the green would neutralize any redness unless you really cake it on, since its sheer.

 o_o The cream is yellow too... REALLY yellow I got this awhile ago... When you use this cream, dont use too much, a little goes a long way o.o Its very moisturizing.... Uh there isnt much to say about this since the name pretty much says it all. xDDD Its moisturizing & thick... 16 oz... yeh.

Hey!! School has been kicking my butt so I havent posted anything lately

Ahhh.... This Lip balm. Waaay baack when from like december... Well, Ive got quite a bit to rant. . . Any ways... Cute huh? Even has a little thumb space. :) The thing I DO like about this lip balm is that it can be applied to both lips at once. pretty cool huh? Theres other flavors... I really wanted the red one but i was toooo impatient. NOTICE how clean the outside is? Anyways, this one smells yummehh... looks like an egg.

HEHEHE EGGGG :DD Its twisty cap... I sort of regret buying this. After taking this like everywhere with me, the outer cover thingy got all dirty and ugly D: and I couldnt clean it off. Anyways.... (MAN! I keep getting off topic. his is what i get for blogging for YOU GUYS<3 at 10:35pm) Lol, it makes your lips smooth after awhile. Like, It cures dry skinness. For me, once I apply it, I cant rub my lips together... so I guess its sticky. Not lipgloss sticky though. And it leaves a residue DDDDx (IF you guys were wondering... My fav lip balm is Softlips Cherry..But thats another story :))

This is a new product from Garnier's Moisture Rescue Line. I thought it was a really cool color so... lol x] I applied this just a little while ago, after a shower... and the product claims to offer 24 hours of refreshing moisture, to lock in moisture, and its oil-free. Its a gel and I thought that was really cool.

So basically, you just put it on your skin to moisturize it.

This is what they put on the website:
Instantly: skin looks and feels supple, smooth. Stays hydrated for 24 hours.
In 1 hour: skin's moisture barrier is strengthened to prevent dryness.
With Regular Use: continuously moisturized, skin is strengthened and looks healthier.

At first when you apply it it does feel very refreshing! You dont have to use much because if you use too much, itll get sticky. But dont worry it dries Your skin will feel really soft and smooth after and super soft! haha... The refreshing feeling goes away though :( Its lightweight and I dont see or feel any residue or film. This is worth it for the money because its not as expensive as Clinique's and other brands.  It smells like aloe gel, like after  sunburn but it may become too overpowering if you put too much (duh x))

So, school has started for me, and Ive been very busy. Today I went to ittle Tokyo for Nisei Week! :) SO im going to talk about three products today! Gosh, its almost midnight...  But nevvermind that!

I LOVE this eyelash curler. It works really well! I didnt really expect it to work that nicely... This curler uses spongy pads to curl your lashes. You can definitely see a difference after. My favorite part about this is the rest for your ring finger x) i really dont know why... 

It comes with one mechanical curler and two spongy pads. I guess to switch out when one of them gets old.

okay, this is the e.l.f. Zit Zapper. This also impressed me. I didnt think itd work at all. The packaging is small so its portable. This reminds me of the Clearasil one... I really dont remember what its called, but your supposed to put it when you feel a zit coming. So the tip is a rolly ball and you just roll it on the spot where you need to roll it. It reduces redness, swelling, and does make acne less visible after a few days of using it on clean skin. On the back of the packkage it says it has a unique blend of Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree, Witch Hazel, abd Camphor. I dont know what Camphor is... Never heard of it.

This also dries quickly so you can use it whenever, I prefer before I go to bed though. Well, its pretty worth it for a dollar. Why not try it? Its working pretty good for me. Ive been using it for about two weeks now.

I found this in my moms bathroom because I had run out of makeup remover... So i saw this and decided to try it. So, I had waterproof eyeliner, waterproof mascara, eyeshadow, and blush on today. This product has a jelly-like consistency... Like petroleum jelly. This is incredibly easy to use and works pretty well. The product claims it moisturizes your skin, while removing makeup even lipstick. You dont have to use any water. It is fragrance free and dermatoligist recommended. It does in fact leave your skin very smooth, but I still feel a residue because its jelly. It shouldnt bother most people. . . I just have issues like that Its ok, i just wiped it off. This removed my makeup very well. None was left. :D It says it provides superior moisturizing for scaling and itching skin and dry skin conditions like eczema. My sister has eczema... I'll have to see if it works. :)
